(Electronics) I swear.. I had soo many battery problems with my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. It's not even two years old and the battery life was completely dead (after a year) so I ended up buying a new battery that has a 6 hour battery life, but realized my laptop still said "plugged in, not charging" for my new battery. Outraged.. I searched everything I could to solve this problem. No luck until I end up buying this charger. Figured out the Dell website sells these too, except for a price over $60. Not what I expected so I Amazoned it up and TA-DAA!- I found it and when I received it after 5 days from ordering it- I plugged it into my laptop and miraculously my laptop is finally charging!! No problems and it has been over a month or so for me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for Dell users with the "PLUGGED IN, BUT NOT CHARGING" laptop battery problem. (Electronics) As with any laptop, I guess there comes a time where the supplied power adapter winds up developing some sort of issues after a few years. In my case, due to wear and tear my old Power Adapter started to develop a short in the cable when it was in a certain position. Sure, the old adapter was still usable, but it has since been put away as a spare in case I absolutely need it.This adapter is currently in use with a Dell Inspiron 1545 requiring a PA21 connection, and since I've gotten it, no issues. The battery charges without issue, regardless of whether the PC is on or off. This adapter is different from the Delta Electronics adapter Dell supplied to me, however it is a bit lighter and seems to run cooler especially when charging the battery. The supplied voltage and wattage are the same as the Delta, so there's no issues there. (Electronics) Product is OEM dell and a lot smaller than the one that came with my computer which I like very much. Seems to work great so far though I have only been using it for about a week. No strange smells or noises as some have pointed out. One thing that I would like to point out is the fact that three days into using is a warning box came up stating that I should replace my battery and now there's a small X over the battery symbol. Furthermore, with a full charge it only last about 5 minutes. Im not sure if this has anything to do with the charger or not but the laptop is only a year old. None the less I will continue using it and would recommend this product to a friend. |
